The ʺAlgerBrush IIʺ device commonly called ʺALGER BRUSHʺ is a cylindrical aluminum tube containing a motor and an AA battery.
In its standard form, the Algiers Strawberry is delivered assembled with a non-sterile 1 mm bur. The Algiers Brush is intended for all specialties dealing with the emergency removal of foreign bodies from a patient's eye.
The projections which constitute the foreign bodies which attach to the cornea or the sclera can be removed with great precision by ophthalmologists, emergency physicians, authorized optometrists under the responsibility of an ophthalmologist.
The precision rotation of the bur removes particles fixed on the corneal surface or the sclera, in particular fragments of ferrous metals which rust quickly with the salinity of the environment, it allows the tissues to be resurfaced to allow faster healing.
The diamond burr makes it possible to improve the treatment of pterygium and, for veterinary doctors, the treatment of recurrent corneal ulcers.
