The ʺAlgerBrush IIʺ device commonly called ʺALGER BURNERʺ is a cylindrical aluminum tube containing a motor and an AA battery.
In its standard form, the Alger Burr is delivered assembled with a non-sterile 1 mm burr, the Alger Burr is intended for all specialties dealing with the emergency removal of foreign bodies from a patient's eye.
The projections that constitute foreign bodies that attach to the cornea or sclera can be removed with great precision by ophthalmologists, emergency physicians, qualified optometrists under the responsibility of an ophthalmologist.
The precision rotation of the burr removes particles attached to the corneal surface or sclera, in particular shards of ferrous metals that rust quickly with the salinity of the environment, it allows the tissues to be resurfaced to allow faster healing.
The diamond burr improves the treatment of pterygium and for veterinarians the treatment of recurrent corneal ulcers.
