VICEN VET is the first veterinary medical device, direct current generator and in addition PLASMA discharge, compact, lightweight, versatile that uses direct current and high voltage, offering non-invasive treatments, for dry eye by evaporation, mixed, blepharitis and other pathologies.
1st MECHANISM OF ACTION:
1) By direct current discharge, reversible electroporation and depolarization of cell membranes.
(Electroporation: produces an alteration in the electrical potential of the cell membrane, causing the opening of channels in the cell membrane, facilitating the penetration of substances.)
This mechanism of action can be observed with silver applicators working directly on the conjunctiva, the skin and on the third eyelid, through a direct current discharge, stimulating reversible electroporation and depolarization of the membrane cellular and thus unstick and activate the Meibomian glands.
This action applies to meibomitis, evaporative dry eye, mixed cases and blepharitis, also acting on the nictitating membrane of the third eyelid. It also has a proven local anti-inflammatory effect

2nd MECHANISM OF ACTION:
2) Plasma discharges are produced by the ionization of gas, in this case air.
("Plasma", the fourth state of matter beyond solids, liquids, and gases, in which electrons separate from atoms to form an ionized gas that becomes highly charged, transforming into a continuous stream of plasma. )
We will examine this second mechanism of action with gold applicators. By placing them 2-4 mm from the skin, we produce Plasma.
VICEN VET harnesses plasma energy to trigger epidermal fulguration, resulting in a reaction and immediate retraction of the treatment area of the skin and mucous membranes. Additionally, the fulguration procedure generates heat, which can destroy abnormal tissue.
Therefore, gold applicators are indicated in the treatment of mild and moderate entropion and ectropion, eyelid warts, severe dry eye with hyperkeratinization of the free eyelid margin, benign eyelid tumors, fibroids and angiomas.
